Summer Solstice

on the longest day

as the sun sets

stand on the shoreline

hold still in time

as the sun sets

let the waning light

hold minutes, seconds

strive for peace

in the waning light

stand at land’s end

in search of peace

on this longest day

  1. Your poem is absolutely perfect for this day and this place! I just saw it right after I finished talking to you. What is this form of writing called? It is really unusual and perfect for quieting the soul. You are amazing!
